Temporomandibular disorders (tmds) have become of increasing interest to dental professionals worldwide. while there may be controversy regarding this topic, it is widely agreed that these pathologies remain largely under-diagnosed. in an effort to shed some light on these disorders, a brief discussion of aetiology, diagnosis and possible treatments as well as a description of the leading opinions within our profession will be highlighted.
