چندهمسری از منظر کتاب مقدس و قرآن کریم

در مباحث مربوط به خانواده مسئله‌ چندهمسری مورد توجه علوم مختلف به‌ویژه علوم انسانی و دینی بوده است و از موضوعات قابل اهمیت در حوزه‌ مباحث فرهنگی و اجتماعی به‌شمار می‌آید. کتاب مقدس (عهد عتیق و عهد جدید) و قرآن نیز آموزه‌هایی در این ‌باره بیان کرده‌اند. در این مقاله با روش توصیفی تحلیلی تطبیقی روشن گردید که از میان گونه‌های مختلف چندهمسری صرفاً گونه‌ تعدد زوجات در عهد عتیق به‌صورت ضمنی (داستان‌های انبیا و احکام فقهی) و در قرآن به‌صورت صریح مورد پذیرش قرار گرفته است. در عهد جدید نیز اگرچه درباره‌ جواز آن صراحتاً چیزی گفته نشده است، اما هیج تصریحی بر ممنوعیت آن وجود ندارد (برخلاف آموزه‌های دین مسیحیت). قرآن در عین‌ آنکه صراحتاً تعدد زوجات را مجاز دانسته، اولویت را به‌گونه‌ تک‌همسری داده است؛ ازاین‌رو برخلاف ظاهر عهد عتیق تعداد مجاز زوجات را صراحتاً محدود و احکام سختگیرانه‌ای را برای آن وضع کرده است. در کتاب مقدس تبیینی از تعداد مجاز و سایر احکام تعدد زوجات نمی‌توان یافت. همچنین برخلاف کتاب مقدس که به حکمت و مصلحت تعدد زوجات نپرداخته، قرآن حکمت جواز آن را مصالح اجتماعی بیان کرده است.

polygamy from the perspective of the bible and the holy quran

in various sciences, especially the humanities and religious studies, polygamy has been of interest as an important topic in cultural and social discussions. the bible (old testament and new testament) and the quran also have teachings on this matter. using the descriptive-analytical-comparative method, this article shows that polygamy is accepted implicitly in the old testament (the stories of the prophets and jurisprudential rulings) and explicitly in the quran. although the new testament explicitly mentions the permissibility of polygamy, there is no explicit prohibition on it (unlike the teachings of christianity). the quran explicitly allows polygamy, but gives priority to monogamy; therefore, contrary to the the old testament, it explicitly limits the number of wives and imposes strict rules for it. no explanation of the number of wives and other rules of polygamy can be found in the bible. also, unlike the bible, which does not address the wisdom and expediency of polygamy, the quran states the social benefits and the philosophy of polygamy.
