Update on Infantile Haemangioma

Infantile haemangiomas (ih) are the most common vascular tumorsoccurring in early childhood, with a prevalence of approximately 5-10% of infants. these vascular tumors are divided into two maingroups including; infantile haemangioma and vascular malformations.although, haemangioma of infancy are common, benign and selflimitedtumors, a significant percent of these lesions are associated withsubstantial morbidity in infancy and childhood.all currently used treatments have significant risks. dramaticimprovement of complicated haemangioma of infancy to propranololwas recently reported.here in, we review infantile haemangioma as a whole with focus on thetherapeutic efficacy of systemic and topical propranolol as a betablockersfor the management of infantile haemangioma.
