Abstract
background and purposecontextual interference refers to the interference in performance and learning that arises frompracticing multiple tasks or variations of a task simultaneously (1). according to this concept, high contextual interference during practice leads to poorer performance during acquisition but enhances performance in retention or transfer tests (2). however, research demonstrating the effects of contextual interference has primarily used laboratory tasks, with limited evidence from real-world sports tasks (3, 4). one potential reason for this discrepancy is the difficulty level of real-world tasks, which may create an inappropriate level of functional task difficulty when high contextual interference is applied. in contrast, the reinvestment theory posits that errors during learning are detrimental, as they can lead to a decline in performance under pressure or retention conditions (5). the challenge point framework offers a middle ground, suggesting that optimal learning occurs when the amount of information provided to the learner is balanced (6). this study aimed to investigate the effects of contextual interference and errorless learning on the shot accuracy of soccer players under psychological pressure.
