بررسی کیفی هویت و سرمایه گذاری بین فراگیران پیشرفته زبان انگلیسی در آموزشگاه های خصوصی در ایران

این تحقیق به منظور بررسی هویت و پیامد های آن تحت چارچوب نظریه سرمایه گذاری (norton, 2000) انجام شده است. 17 شرکت کننده از فراگیران بزرگسال (بالای 18 سال) زبان انگلیسی در موسسات زبان مشهد در ایران، شامل 10 مرد و 7 زن، بر اساس توانش زبانی (سطوح پیشرفته c1 و c2)، به این منظور انتخاب و مصاحبه شدند. با استفاده از نرم افزار maxqda 18، محققین مراحل کد گذاری روش تحقیق داده بنیاد را اجرا نموده و نتایج را بطور دقیق تحلیل نمودند. نتایج حاکی از آن بود که بعضی عوامل مهم مانند سخت کوشی، ترس از شکست و تمایلات شخصی ساخت سرمایه گذاری را تحت تاثیر خود قرار می دهند. همین طور، نتایج نشان می دهند که شرکت کنندگانی که درجات بالایی از مشارکت را نشان دادند، سطوح بالایی از سخت کوشی و دیدگاه مثبتی نسبت به کلاس معلم و یادگیری خود داشتند. دیگر یافته ها نشان داد که توصیف جامعه هدف برای فراگیران باعث افزایش انگیزه آن ها می گردد که به نوبه خود سطح سرمایه گذاری را افزایش می دهد. نتایج همچنین نمایان گر بینش های جدیدی در رابطه ی بین زیرساخت های سرمایه گذاری و عوامل تحکیم بخش آن هستند. نکات عملی آموزشی نیز به معلمین و مدرسین زبان انگلیسی مخصوصا در محیط  انگلیسی به عنوان زبان خارجی (efl) پیشنهاد شد.

a qualitative analysis of identity and investment among advanced iranian efl learners in private schools

this study intended to investigate identity and its ramifications in the light ofinvestment theory (norton, 2000). seventeen participants from different languageinstitutions in mashhad, iran, 10 females and 7 males, were selected and interviewedaccording to their level of proficiency (c1 and c2) and the level of their involvement.using maxqda software 18, the researchers employed the three levels of the open,axial, and selective coding of the grounded theory methodology to analyze the dataand bring in the results. the results showed that some significant factors directlyaffected investment such as working hard, fear of failure, and personal interest inlearning english. moreover, the findings of this study indicated that those with highlevels of involvement had high levels of being hardworking and their attitude towardslanguage, class, teacher, and learning was positive. another finding of the study wasthat describing the target community for the learners increases their motivation whichin turn leads to increase in their level of investment. the results proposed some newinsights into the relationship between the sub-constructs of investment and the factorsthat reinforce it as well as some practical premonitions for teachers and practitioners ofenglish specifically as a foreign language.
