بررسی و نقد کتاب پاشنۀ ‌آشیل سرمایه‌داری: پول کثیف و چگونگی احیای نظام بازار آزاد

کتاب پاشنۀ آشیل سرمایه‌داری به تبیین تاثیر پول کثیف در عملکرد نظام سرمایه‌داری جهانی می‌پردازد. ریموند بیکر، نویسندۀ کتاب، زنجیرۀ سه‌حلقه‌ای به‌هم‌وابسته و دارای تاثیرات متقابل شامل بی‌قانونی، ‌نابرابری، و فلسفۀ مطلوبیت‌گرایی را به‌‌منزلۀ پاشنۀ آشیل سرمایه‌داری معرفی ‌می‌کند که زمینۀ آسیب‌پذیر‌ی این نظام را مخصوصاً در قرن بیستم فراهم‌ کرده ‌است. بیکر تجدید ‌ساختار نظام بازار آزاد و تداوم عملکرد بهینۀ این نظام را در قرن بیست‌ویکم منوط به اصلاحات جدی در فلسفۀ حاکم بر سرمایه‌داری، یعنی مطلوبیت‌گرایی با تاکید بر نظریۀ عدالت جان رالز و توماس پوگ، می‌داند. او معتقد ‌‌است که باید اقدامات موثری برای کاهش نابرابری ثروت در داخل کشورهای جهان و بین آن‌ها از طریق کاهش پول کثیف و بخشش بدهی کشورهای در‌حال‌توسعه انجام شود. بیکر هم‌چنین تغییرات نهادی در ساختار بانک ‌جهانی و نظام مالی کشورهای پیشرفته را برای کاهش ایجاد و جریان پول کثیف از کشورهای در‌‌حال‌توسعه و در‌حال‌گذار به کشورهای پیشرفته توصیه می‌کند. در این مقاله، ضمن ارزیابی شکلی و محتوایی کتاب، نوآوری‌های بیکر در نقد نظام سرمایه‌داری جهانی از درون مطرح و با سایر نقدهای سرمایه‌داری مقایسه و پیش‌نهادهایی به‌منظور روزآمد‌شدن کتاب مطرح ‌می‌شود.

A Critique on the Book Capitalism’s Achilles Heel: Dirty Money and How to Renew the Free-Market System

This book explains the impact of dirty money on the functioning of the global capitalist system. Raymond Baker introduces a threeloop interconnected chain of interactions, including lawlessness, inequality, and the philosophy of utilitarianism, as the Achilles’ heel of capitalism which has provided the ground for the vulnerability of this system, especially in the twentieth century. Baker considers the restructuring of the free market system and the continuation of the optimal functioning of this system in the 21st century to be subject to serious reforms in the philosophy of capitalism, namely utilitarianism, with an emphasis on the theory of justice of John Rawls and Thomas Pogg. He believes that effective measures to reduce inequality in wealth within and between countries should be taken to reduce dirty money and debt forgiveness of developing countries. Baker also recommends institutional changes in the structure of the World Bank and the financial system of developed countries to reduce the creation and flow of dirty money from developing and transition countries. In this article, while evaluating the form and content of Baker’s book, his innovations in the critique of the global capitalist system are presented from within and compared with other critiques of capitalism, and suggestions for updating the book are presented.
