نقد و بررسی کتاب فراز و فرود عباسیان (132 تا 324 هجری): پژوهش در ساختار و تحول ایدئولوژی، اقتصاد، و نهاد نظامی

عباسیان، که گروهی انگیخته‏شده در اواخر حکومت امویان بودند، کوشیدند با ارائۀ ایدئدلوژی جدید در قالب نظام دعوت به بسیج منابع خویش در مبارزه با گروه حاکم برآیند و کنش‏های معناداری را در جذب عناصر مخالف اموی و کشاندن آن‏ها به‌زیر چتر واحد «الرضا من آل محمد» به‌انجام رسانند. کتاب فراز و فرود عباسیان: پژوهش در ساختار و تحول ایدئدلوژی، اقتصاد، و نهاد نظامی نوشتۀ محمد احمدی‏منش است که در سال 1397 در انتشارات سمت به حلیۀ طبع آراسته شده است. نگارنده کتاب را در دو بخش «بررسی تاریخی» (شامل هشت فصل) و «بررسی نظری» (شامل دو فصل) به‌گونه‏ای شایسته سازمان داده و اثری قابل‌قبول پدید آورده است. مقالۀ حاضر می‏کوشد تا، در چهارچوب نقد اثر، نقاط قوت و ضعف آن را شناسایی و بررسی کند. به‌هرروی، کم‏دقتی و غفلت در برخی زمینه‏ها، به‌طور مثال در گزینش عنوان «فراز و فرود» و ارائۀ پاره‏ای نظریات در مقدمه که نمود آن در متن دیده نمی‏شود، درکنار نپرداختن به پیچیدگی‏های حکومت عباسیان و عدم نگاه جامع به موضوع به‏قدرت‏رسیدن عباسیان، به‌ویژه در خراسان، تاحدی به کتاب آسیب رسانده است.

A Critical Review on the Book The Rise and Fall of the Abbasids (132‒324 AH): A Research in to the Structure and Evolution of the Ideology, Economics and Military Institution

As an enthused group in the late Umayyad period, the Abbasids sought to mobilize their resources in the engagement with the ruling dynasty by presenting a new ideology, viz. the socalled Summon System, and undertook significant actions in enticing antiUmayyad elements to bring them under the unified patronage promoted by the slogan “alRiza min Ale Muhammad.” The book The Rise and Fall of the Abbasids (132‒324 AH): A Research into the Structure and Evolution of the Ideology, Economics and Military Institution is an authored work by Mohammad Ahmadi Manesh, published by the SAMT Publications in 2018. The author has fittingly organized the book in the two sections of “A Historical Inquiry” (consisting of eight chapters) and “A Theoretical Inquiry” (comprising two chapters), producing a worthwhile work. The present article attempts to review the volume, pinning down and examining its strengths and shortcomings. At any rate, as a result of the lack of due care and laxity, the volume suffers somewhat from occasional shortfalls, among them being the choice of the title “The Fall and Down…,” and a series of points that are made in the Introduction but are not reflected in the text, not to mention the author’s failure to address the complexities involved in the Abbasid rule and to adopt a holistic approach to their rise to power, particularly in Khorasan.
