بررسی و نقد ترجمۀ کتاب ربط علم طبیعی به الهیات

درمورد «رابطۀ علم و دین» یا «رابطۀ علم و الهیات» کتاب‌های متعددی نگاشته یا ترجمه شده است. یکی از این کتاب‌ها، کتاب the relevance of natural science to theology اثر ویلیام اچ. آستین است. این کتاب از معدود کتاب‌هایی است که به‌صورت تخصصی و تفصیلی به مسئلۀ رابطۀ علم طبیعی و الهیات پرداخته است. کتاب مزبور را علی حقی با عنوان ربط علم طبیعی به الهیات ترجمه کرده است. نگارنده با هدف ارزیابی و نقد محتوای کتاب سراغ ترجمۀ فارسی آن رفت، اما ترجمه را آن‌قدر مبهم و نارسا و پرغلط یافت که ترجیح داد به‌جای نقد محتوای کتاب با روش تحلیلی ‌‌ انتقادی به نقد ترجمۀ کتاب بپردازد. ترجمۀ‌ کتاب مزبور با وضع موجود برای هیچ متن درسی و حتی منبع تحقیقی مناسب نیست. ارائۀ چنین ترجمه‌ای با این حجم از اشکالات، جهت چاپ از سوی مترجم محترم، و انتشار آن از سوی ناشر محترم بدون داوری تخصصی قبل از چاپ یا دست‌کم بدون برطرف‌کردن اشکالات ظاهری جا‌ی بسی تامل دارد.

Review and Critique of the Translation of the Book The Relevance of Natural Science to Theology

Numerous books have been written or translated on the “relationship between science and religion” or “the relationship between science and theology.” One of these books is “The Relevance of Natural Science to Theology” by William H. Austin. This book is one of the few books that deals with the relationship between natural science and theology in a specialized and detailed way. The book has been translated by Ali Haqqi as “Relation of Natural Science to Theology”. The author sought to translate the content of the book into Persian, but found the translation so vague, inaccurate, and erroneous that he preferred to criticize the book’s translation in a criticalanalytical way instead of criticizing the book’s content. The translation of this book is not suitable for any textbook or even a research source. Providing such translations with this volume of errors, for publication by the esteemed translator, and for publication by the esteemed publisher without prior professional judgment or at least without eliminating the apparent flaws should be seriously taken into account.
