نقد و تحلیل کتاب زبان‌شناسی و خواندن

بازشناسی دیداری واژه‌‌ها از مهم‌ترین خرده‌‌مهارت‌‌های خواندن است که افراد در سال‌های آغازین مدرسه کسب می‌‌کنند، اما مهارت در درک متن نوشتاری، که پایه و اساس یادگیری و هدف نهایی خواندن است، در سال‌‌های بعد و هم‌گام با افزایش دانش و تجربیات آن‌ها شکل می‌گیرد و رشد می‌‌کند. شیما نبی‌‌فر تلاش کرده است در کتاب زبان‌‌شناسی و خواندن این مهارت زبانی و خرده‌‌مهارت‌‌های آن را برای پژوهش‌گرانِ رشتۀ زبان‌‌شناسی تبیین کند. نگارنده در این مقاله کتاب یادشده را بررسی و نقد کرده و بعضی از امتیازات و کاستی‌‌های آن را برشمرده است. براساس یافته‌‌های این مطالعه، این کتاب نکات مثبتی نظیر پرداختن به مهارت ‌‌خواندن و پیش‌‌نیازهای شناختی آن با تمرکز بر رشتۀ زبان‌‌شناسی را دارد، اما بی‌‌توجهی به بعضی از اصول نگارش و ویرایش، برداشت غلط نویسنده از بعضی از اصطلاحات و مباحث، و بی‌دقتی در کاربرد بعضی از الفاظ تخصصی از نکات منفی این کتاب است که مانع می‌‌شود خواننده‌‌های کتاب در بسیاری از مباحث بتوانند به کُنه مطلب پی ببرند و از مطالب آن کامل بهره‌مند شوند.

A Critical Review and Analysis of the Book “Linguistics and Reading”

Visual word recognition is one of the most important subskills of reading that people learn during the elementary school years. However, reading comprehension that constitutes the basis of learning all academic and nonacademic subjects, and the ultimate goal of reading, gradually could be mastered during the next years along with increase in their knowledge and experience. Linguistics and Reading, written by Shimā Nabifar, is a book through which the author has tried to clarify this skill along with its subskills. In this paper, this book has been criticized and some of its strengths and weaknesses have been mentioned. Based on the findings of this study, this book has some positive points such as dealing with the reading skill, its subskills and cognitive prerequisites with a focus on linguistics. However, not paying enough attention to some of the principles of writing and editing, the author’s misunderstanding of some of the terms, and carelessness in using some technical terms are among the negative points which could prevent the readers of the book to get the essence of the material and to benefit of it, that much.
