نقدی جامعه‌شناختی بر هویت‌های مرگ‌بار

هدف مقالۀ حاضر ارزیابی نقادانۀ کتاب هویت‌های مرگ‌بار ازمنظری جامعه‌شناختی است؛ اثری برخاسته از تجربۀ زیستۀ نویسندۀ فرانسوی لبنانی‌تبار، امین معلوف، که با هدف تبیین مسئله‌ای بسیار مهم نگاشته شده است: اگر هویت‌ها تحقیر و تهدید به نابودی شوند فاشیسم، سلطه‌طلبی، سرکوب‌گری، و درنهایت «هویت‌های مرگ‌بار» سر برمی‌آورند. ازآن‌جاکه هویت انسان‌ها متشکل از عناصر متعدد و گاهی متعارض است، نمی‌توان تنها یک تعلق خاص را به آن‌ها نسبت داد، زیرا هویت افراد ترکیبی بوده و هر فرد می‌بایست تمامی تعلقاتش را مطالبه کند. مقصود نویسنده از ترکیبی‌بودن هویت بیان این نکته است که فرد می‌تواند دو ملیت داشته باشد، از والدینی با دو دین متفاوت حیات یابد، در مرز‌های چندین زبان زندگی کند و درعین‌حال خود را متعلق به تمامی آن‌ها بداند و آن‌ها را نیز از آن خود بداند. در این معنا، کرامت انسان‌ها فارغ از تفاوت‌های هویتی می‌بایست حفظ شود. مهم‌ترین نتایج حاصل از نقد کتاب در بخش صوری شامل حروف‌چینی، تلفظ اشتباه واژگان انگلیسی، و ایرادات دستوری است و در بخش محتوایی توجه‌نکردن نویسنده به عاملیت و فرایند ساخت‌بندی هویت است.

A Sociological Criticism of The Deadly Identities

The purpose of this paper is to present a critical evaluation of The Deadly Identities, a book resulted from life experiences of the FrenchLebanese author, Amin Maalouf, which has been written to explain an extremely significant issue: fascism, desire for domination, and deadly identities will be arisen if different identities are offended and threatened with annihilation. People’s identities contain several and on occasion paradoxical elements; in other words, they benefit from hybrid identity. Therefore, one special possession should not be ascribed to them; they must demand all their belongings. By hybrid identity, it means that an individual can possess two nationalities, be born from parents with two different religions, speak in some languages whilst considers all of these as his/her possessions and see him/herself as belonging to them, too. In accordance with this meaning, human being’s dignity, departed from all identical differences, should be preserved. The most noticeable critical results, related to the form of the book, include typesetting, incorrect pronunciation of English words, and grammatical errors. Ignoring agency and the process of determining identity can be considered as the most severe criticisms in relation to the content.
