نقد و بررسی کتاب برابری و جانب‌داری

برابری و جانب‌داری از آثار تامس نیگل فیلسوف آمریکایی صرب‌تبار است، که در حوزه فلسفه سیاسی نگاشته شده است. وی در این کتاب می‌کوشد بین خیرات شخصی و غیرشخصی چشم‌اندازی از یک تعامل منطقی ایجاد کند و گره اخلاقی جانب‌داری بین این دو مفهوم را در اندیشه و عمل بگشاید. در حوزه عمل تاکید نیگل بیش‌تر بر جنبه‌های اقتصادی برابری شهروندی است تا جنبه‌های فرهنگی، سیاسی، و اجتماعی آن. در این مقاله، نقد و بررسی کتاب نیگل در سه بخش اصلی انجام شده است؛ نخست، صورت و ساختار ظاهری کتاب بررسی شده و سپس به نیگل و کتابش در فلسفه سیاسی دوران مدرن پرداخته‌ایم. درپایان محتوای اثر را تحلیل و دستاورد کتاب نیگل را در دفاع از مکتب بی‌طرفی مخصوصاً باتوجه‌به نگرش اقتصادی وی ارزیابی کرده‌ایم. تلاش نیگل مبتنی‌بر واکاوی مشکلات بین چشم‌اندازهای شخصی و غیرشخصی به‌صورت عام و هم‌چنین به‌صورت خاص در زمینه نابرابری‌های اقتصادی و اجتماعی با پیش‌فرض‌های بی‌طرفی برابری‌طلبانه است؛ البته این تلاش‌ها به راه‌حل مشخصی منتهی نمی‌شود.

A Critical Analysis of Equality and Partiality

Equality and Partiality is authored by American (with a Serbian descent) philosopher Thomas Nagle in political philosophy. In this book, the author tries to create a logical correlation between personal and nonpersonal goods, and by so doing he hopes to have unknotted the moral implications of partiality between these two concepts both in theory and in practice. In the practical sphere, Nagle puts more emphasis on economic aspects of equality among citizens than on the cultural, political, and social aspects. This paper   examines Equality and Partiality in three sections. It first concerns itself with the structure and appearance of the book, then it discusses the position of Nagle and his book in modern political philosophy, and it finally analyzes the content of the book and evaluates the achievement of the Nagle’s book in defending the school of impartiality especially on economic grounds. Nagle’s efforts focus on identifying the problems from his own personal and impersonal views about the social and economic inequality, with the equal presuppositions. Of course, these efforts have not led to clearcut solutions.
