نقد محتوا و ترجمۀ کتاب باستان‌شناسی آسیای مرکزی، از پارینه‌سنگی تا عصر آهن

آسیای مرکزی ازجمله مناطقی است که در روند زمان با فلات ایران برهم‌کنش‌های فراوانی داشته که عمدتاً در مطالعات باستان‌شناسان ایران مغفول مانده است و چون در مجموعه درس‌های باستان‌شناسی نیز به آن پرداخته نشده یا کم‌تر پرداخته می‌شود، دانشجویان از این حوزه مفاهیم چندانی نمی‌آموزند و این درحالی است که تاثیر فرهنگ‌های آسیای مرکزی بر فرهنگ‌‌های کهن ایران را نمی‌توان نادیده گرفت. فیلیپ کوهل، نویسنده این کتاب، با نگاهی دقیق و نسبتاً جامع سعی کرده تا بیشینه پژوهش‌‌های انجام‌شده در این ناحیه را موردبررسی قرار دهد و باتوجه‌به این‌که سالیان زیادی است که در این منطقه مطالعه و پژوهش کرده، با تسلط کامل به توضیح یافته‌‌ها و محوطه‌‌های باستان‌‌شناختی حوزه آسیای مرکزی از پارینه‌سنگی تا عصر آهن می‌پردازد. نسخه انگلیسی کتاب بسیار خوب تنظیم ‌شده است؛ هرچند گاهی نکاتی هم‌چون عدم ارجاع به برخی مقالات به‌خصوص در حوزه ایران از ایرادات متن انگلیسی کتاب محسوب می‌شود. متاسفانه ترجمه فارسی ایراد بی‌شماری دارد که خواندن کتاب را با مشکل مواجه کرده است و از جذابیت آن به‌شدت می‌کاهد. حروف‌چینی ِپر از ایراد، عدم رعایت اصول نگارش فارسی و ایرادات املایی و نگارشی، ترجمه اشتباه، و حذف برخی از موارد کلیدی در ترجمه از اصلی‌‌ترین ایرادات ترجمه محسوب می‌‌شود.

The Critique of Content and Translation of the Book “Central Asia Paleolithic Beginnings to the Iron Age”

Central Asia is one of the regions that had interactions with the Iranian plateau during the time, but, unfortunately it is missed in the Iranian archaeological studies. Although this region is attended by some of Iranian archaeologists working in eastern Iran, other archaeologists generally do not have any information about it. Archaeological students do not know something about central Asia, too because they have no lessons about the Central Asia in their courses. However, that is impossible to ignore the interaction between ancient Iran and Central Asia cultures. The Kohl’s book, Central Asia Paleolithic Beginnings to the Iron Age, is one of the best books on this topic, so reading it is so important for the Iranian archaeologists. Kohl has been working in this region for a long time, and he wrote this book thoroughly and comprehensively. . This book is written and finetuned in English; of course, in some casesnot referring to some articles, especially in the Iranian arena, can be considered as the flaws in the English text of the book. Unfortunately, the Persian translation of this book is not attractive because the translated text has many mistakes. Inappropriate typing, not regarding the principles of Persian writing and spelling mistakes, wrong translation, and disregarding some keywords, are the main mistakes in the translation of this book.
