نقدی بر کتاب باستان‌شناسی خلیج فارس در دورۀ اشکانی و ساسانی

سال‌هاست که باستان‌شناسان ایرانی و انیرانی در سرزمین‌های پیرامونی خلیج فارس و نیز در ژرف‌ناهای آن به پژوهش‌های باستان‌شناسی پرداخته‌اند و دستاوردهای ارزنده‌ای به‌ارمغان آورده‌اند. این دستاوردها بیش‌تر درقالب مقاله‌هایی منتشر شده است که بیشینۀ آن‌ها به زبان انگلیسی است. کتاب‌های متعددی نیز در این زمینه وجود دارد که البته به زبان انگلیسی چاپ شده است. اگرچه کتا‌ب‌هایی به قلم تاریخ‌پژوهان ایرانی و انیرانی نگاشته شده، نبود تک‌نگاریِ جامعی دربارۀ خلیج فارس ازمنظر باستان‌شناسی به‌شدت محسوس و مشهود بود. به‌تازگی کتابی به زبان فارسی با نام باستان‌شناسی خلیج فارس در دورۀ اشکانی و ساسانی منتشر شده است که بررسی‌ها، کاوش‌ها، و مطالعات انجام‌شدۀ باستان‌شناسان را در پهنه‌های شمالی و جنوبی خلیج فارس در دو دورۀ پردامنۀ تاریخ ایران یعنی دورۀ اشکانی و ساسانی دربرمی‌گیرد. از‌این‌روی، اهمیت موضوعی و حساسیت ملی حوزه خلیج فارس ضرورت نهادن این تالیف را در بوته ارزیابی، نقد، و بررسی توجیه می‌نماید. نگاه نقادانه بر این اثر ارزش‌مند حاکی از وجود کاستی‌هایی چند در ویراستاری ادبی، انسجام و نظم منطقی بین‌فصلی و درون‌فصلی مطالب، مطول‌بودن عناوین برخی فصل‌ها، تناسب‌ و هماهنگی‌نداشتن عنوان با محتوا در برخی فصل‌ها، نبود توازن‌ در پرداختن به پیشینه پژوهش‌های کرانه‌های شمالی و جنوبی خلیج فارس ازمنظر توالی گاه‌نگاری و وجود نقایصی اندک در ارجاع‌دهی و نمایه است.

Archaeology of the Persian Gulf A Review of the Book “Archeology of the Persian Gulf in the Parthian and Sassanid Eras”

For many years, Iranian and nonIranian archaeologists have conducted archaeological research in the peripheral territories of the Persian Gulf as well as its depths, and they have gained valuable achievements. These achievements are mostly in the form of papers, most of which are in English. There are several books on this area, which are published in English. Although some books have also been written by Iranian and nonIranian scholars, the lack of a comprehensive monograph on the Persian Gulf from the archaeological point of view has been very tangible and obvious. Recently, a Persian book titled, Archaeology of the Persian Gulf in the Parthian and Sassanid Eras, has been published in Persian, encompassing surveys, excavations, and studies conducted by archaeologists in the northern and southern parts of the Persian Gulf in two broad periods of Iranian history, i.e. the Parthian and Sasanian eras. Therefore, the importance of the subject and national sensitivity of the Persian Gulf region justifies the need to evaluate and review the aforesaid volume. A critical look at this valuable work reveals some shortcomings in literary editing, coherence, and logical intrachapter and interchapter order of the material, long titles of some chapters, lack of congruency and concordance between the titles and the content in some chapters, an imbalance in dealing with the background of north and south coastal studies in the Persian Gulf in terms of the sequence of chronology, and the existence of few deficiencies in referencing and indexing.
