نقد کتاب رابطه علم و دین در غرب

مسئله رابطه علم و دین از نقاط چالش‌‌انگیز پژوهش‌‌های معاصر است که آثار متنوعی درباره آن به زبان فارسی و دیگر زبان‌‌ها منتشر شده است. کتاب رابطه علم و دین در غرب از این دسته آثار است که توسط محمدعلی رضایی اصفهانی تالیف شده است. این کتاب برای مخاطب دانشجو نگاشته شده، ولی کتاب درسی نیست. ادبیات روان، حجم کم، و پرهیز از اصطلاحات تخصصی از امتیازات این کتاب است. ناهماهنگی میان حجم فصول و نیز عدم ارتباط منطقی میان عناوین اصلی و فرعی در بخش‌‌ها از انسجام اثر کاسته است. از مهم‌‌ترین اشکالات محتوایی این کتاب، ناهماهنگی میان عنوان و محتواست. مباحث این کتاب دربردارنده گونه‌‌های مختلف ارتباط علم و دین نیست، بلکه فقط بر تعارض علم و دین، آن هم زمینه‌‌های روانی و اجتماعی آن متمرکز شده و بیش‌تر درباره علل مخالفت کلیسا با گالیله بحث کرده است. مولف در برخی موارد برای حل مسئله تعارض، از معرفت‌‌شناسی پوپر و کانت بهره جسته است که این کار ارزش معرفتی گزاره‌‌های دینی را از جهات پرشمار دیگری تهدید می‌‌کند.

The Critique of "Science and Religion in the West”

Criticism  of  "The Relation  between  Science  and  Religion in  the West" The relation  between  science  and  religion is one of the most controversial topics in contemporary ages. Several books and articles are published in Persian and other languages. "The Relation  between  Science  and  Religion in the  West", written by Mohammad Rezaey Esfahany, is one of them. This book is written for students, but it is not a textbook.Simple literature, small volume of book pages and userfriendly phrases are some of the privileges of this book. However, inconsistency of volumes of chapters and no connection between main titles and subcategories decreased the coherence of book.  The title of book does not correspond to its content. The content of this book does not show all kinds of relations between science and religion. If focuses only on the conflict between them and on social and psychological aspects of them and spoke about causes of church opposition with Galileo.The author used Popper and Kant’s principles to solve this conflict, and this usage threatens the value of religious proposition from other aspects.
