In Vitro Medium Term Conservation of Felty Germander (Teucrium Polium L.) Micro-shoots.

Felty germander (teucrium polium l.) is a jordanian medicinal plant that is widely used in folk medicine. it isan endangered plant due to its increased popularity so it must be highly considered for conservation. mediumterm conservation of t. polium was successfully achieved using elevated concentrations of different osmoticagents. approximately 0.7 cm micro-shoots were aseptically excised from in vitro grown plants and transferredto hormone free-ms medium (hf-ms) for 4-5 days. pre-treated micro-shoots were transferred to ms mediaplus elevated concentrations of abcisic acid (aba), mannitol, sorbitol, or sucrose, for 12 weeks. approximately33.3% of t. polium micro-shoots were regrown when culturing on ms meidum supplemented with 3.8 ?maba. addition of 0.1 m mannitol to the t. polium conservation medium resulted in 36.3% regrowth, whereasusing 0.1 m sorbitol resulted in 57.3% regrowth. using medium containing 0.2 m sucrose gave 90% regrowth oft. polium micro-shoots.
