ساختار و الگویی جدید بر پایۀ نیازهای حرفه‌ای برای تدریس درس زبان تخصصی مهندسی برق، یک مطالعۀ موردی

: این مقاله پیشنهادی برای محتوا و تدریس درس زبان تخصصی دوره کارشناسی مهندسی برق را ارائه می‌کند. ایدۀ اساسی در طراحی محتوای پیشنهادی، توجه به بخش عمده‌ای از نیازهای یک دانشجوی مهندسی برق در حین تحصیل و نیز پس از دانش‌آموختگی، در موقعیت‌های واقعی است. در این مقاله، جزئیاتی از محتوای درس، چگونگی تدریس، نحوۀ مشارکت دانشجویان در فرایند آموزش و نیز شیوه‌های ارزیابی دانشجویان مورد بررسی قرار می‌گیرد. محتوا و شیوۀ تدریس مطرح‌شده در این مقاله، در دانشکده مهندسی برق دانشگاه صنعتی خواجه نصیرالدین طوسی اجرا شده است. علاوه بر نمونه‌هایی از متن‌های تدریس‌شده، بخشی از خوشه‌های واژگانی منتخب و نیز گزیده‌ای از سوال‌های امتحانی، در این مقاله ارائه می‌شود. در پایان درس، یک نظرسنجی در سه بخش از دانشجویان به عمل آمده است و نظر ایشان در خصوص ترکیب محتوای درس و چگونگی ارائه درس را جویا شده است و علاوه بر آن بازخورد آزاد ایشان را دریافت کرده است. بر اساس جمع‌بندی نتایج این نظرسنجی، پیشنهاد ارائه‌شده در این مقاله برای محتوا و شیوۀ تدریس درس زبان تخصصی مهندسی برق، رضایت حدود 87% دانشجویان از برآورده شدن انتظارات و نیازهای اصلی ایشان از درس زبان تخصصی و نیز شیوۀ تدریس را در پی داشته است.

a new structure and teaching approach based on professional needs for the undergraduate course ‘english for electrical engineering’, a case study

this paper proposes a new combination of contents and a teaching approach for the ‘english for electrical engineering’ undergraduate course. this proposition targets the current and future needs of an electrical engineer, focused on reading, comprehension, and writing, and slightly touches upon speaking and listening as well. the structure of the course is based on in-class delivery of the content in such a way that it maximally attracts the participation and contribution of students. for reading and comprehension, a wide variety of scientific and technical texts are used including textbooks, laboratory instruction manuals, user manuals, catalogues, brochures, and also datasheets. the texts are chosen to cover various subspecialties within the electrical engineering discipline. captured from the texts discussed in the class, a rich vocabulary is gradually formed comprising numerous word clusters. feedback of the students on the content and delivery of the course was collected through a questionnaire in three parts. according to the evaluation results, around 87% of the students participated in the class were satisfied with the fulfillment of their english language needs and expectations through the proposed course structure and content, as well as the teaching approach.
