مقایسه‌ی بین ره‌یافت‌های اولتراسونوگرافی و کالبدگشایی تخمدان در مرحله‌ی آنستروس سگ‌های اهواز

This study is investigated the approaches of ultrasonography of normal ovary in mix breed bitch and comparison of ultrasonography findings between anatomy findings of ovary. twenty healthy bitches ranging 3-7 years old were assigned to ultrasonography. already, the stage of estrus cycle has been defined through the vaginal smears. after confidence of anestrus stage, bitches were assigned to ultrasonographic examination through the different approaches. ovaries were scanned through the different approaches (lateral recumbency, standing position, dorsal recumbency) and the size of the left and the right ovaries were recorded in the lateral recumbence position, because ovaries were scanned easier and faster in the lateral recumbence position. small ovary with uniform hypoechoic parenchyma compared to the surrounding tissue was visualized. the residues of corpus luteum and corpus albicans were not visualized in ultrasonography method in contrast to anatomy method. there wasn't any significant difference between the size of right and left ovaries in ultrasonographic examination. in the second stage bitches were prepared for necropsy and the size of ovaries were compared to the size of ovaries that were scanned. the average length of scanned ovaries was 13.8±0.33 mm, width 8.8±0.26 mm; and the average morphological characteristics of ovaries in anatomy findings were (length 13.7±0.33 mm, width 9.15±0.26 mm). despite of fixation in anatomy method, there was not a significant difference in the size of ovaries between anatomy and ultrasonography methods.
