|
A film of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (mwcnt) was casted on the surface ofan ionic liquid (il) modified carbon paste electrode (cpe) to established a modifiedelectrode denoted as mwcnt/il/cpe. the electrochemical reduction of furazolidone (fu)was investigated with cyclic voltammetry. the constructed electrode (mwcnt/il/cpe)exhibited excellent electrocatalytic behavior toward the reduction of fu as evidenced by theenhancement of the reduction peak current and the shift in the cathodic potential to lessnegative values (by 20 mv) in comparison with the bare cpe. the formal potential, e0', of fuis ph dependent with a slope of -53.1 mv per unit of ph, close to the anticipated nernestianvalue of -59 mv for a 4-electron and 4-proton process. a detailed analysis of cyclicvoltammograms gave fundamental electrochemical parameters including the electroactivesurface coverage (?), the transfer coefficient (?) and the standard rate constant (ks). a linearcalibration curve was obtained for fu detection in the concentration range of 50-800 ?mol l-1of detection limit 33 ?mol l-1.
