A 12 years boy presented with the above skin lesions. family history revealed similar lesions and early cardiac deaths. his lipid profile revealed hypercholesterolemia with very high ldl but normal hdl choles- terol and triglycerides. familial hypercholesterolemia is an autosomal dominant disorder. it usually manifests in the first or second decade of life. intertriginous xanthomas are an important feature of this disease. other features include tuberous xanthomas, tendon xanthomas and xanthalasmas.
