چکیده
|
ما در این مقاله منبع ویدئویی شگفت‌انگیزی را معرفی می‌کنیم که می‌تواند به افزایش تجربه یادگیری دانشجویان لیسانس کمک کند. مجموعه انیمیشن تلویزیونی سیمپسون‌ها می‌تواند به‌صورت عملی، ابزاری کارآمد برای تشریح مضامین جامعه‌شناسانه و تشویق دانشجویان لیسانس به تفکر انتقادی باشد. سیمپسون‌ها مکمل فلسفه‌های آموزش و یادگیری‌ای خواهد بود که بر کاربرد تخیلی جامعه‌شناسانه در مشاهده زندگی روزمره تاکید می‌کند. ما دریافتیم که این مجموعه نمایشی ابزار آموزشی مناسبی برای عرضه و ارائه‌ی مفاهیم جامه شناسانه و پرورش فهم دانشجویان از موضوعات درسی است. دانشجویان می‌تواند این مجموعه نمایشی را با بحث‌های انتقادی درآمیزند و مرتبط نمایند؛ بنابراین مجموعه سیمپسون‌ها ابزار منبع آموزشی ارزشمندی برای برنامه درسی جامعه‌شناسی خواهد بود. شاخص حقیقی آموزش موفقیت‌آمیز برحسب توانایی دانشجویان در درک موضوعات درسی به‌صورت مفید و موثر و استفاده از این دانش بیرون از کلاس درس سنجیده شده است. سیمپسون‌ها به عنوان یک متن فرهنگ عامه زمینه‌ای عالی برای تحقق این هدف فراهم می‌کند.

The Cartoon Society: Using The Simpsons to Teach and Learn Sociology

Abstract
|
In this paper we introduce a wonderful video resource that can enhance the undergraduate learning experience. The animated television series, The Simpsons, can be particularly effective for illustrating sociological themes and encouraging critical thinking among today’s undergraduates. Borrowing fromMills (1959), The Simpsons complements teaching philosophies that stress applying the sociological imagination to the observation of everyday life. We have found that the show is an effective pedagogical tool for demonstrating sociological concepts and fostering students’ understanding of the course material. Students can relate to the show and by engaging them in critical discussions, The Simpsons is a valuable pedagogical resource to the sociology curriculum. The true indication of successful teaching is measured by the students’ ability to grasp course material effectively, and then use that knowledge beyond the classroom. The animated series, The Simpsons, can be particularly effective for illustrating sociological themes and encouraging critical thinking among today undergraduates
