پژوهش به مثابه ابزار گذار: کاوش پدیدارشناختی تصویر آینده در نگارش رساله دکتری

این پژوهش با هدف کاوش تصویر آینده در انجام رساله بین دانشجویان دکتری دانشگاه شیراز انجام گرفته و تفسیر فهم مشارکت‌کنندگان از موضوع، از طریق مصاحبه عمیق با 8 نفر از دانشجویان صورت گرفته است. بر اساس رویکرد استفهامی از روش پدیدارشناسی تفسیری برای تحلیل داده‌ها استفاده شده است. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد رساله دکتری در تصویر بزرگ دانشجویان از زندگی، جایگاه خاصی ندارد. به منظور تصریح یافته‌ها، از مضامین استعاری استفاده شده است. رساله نزد مشارکت‌کنندگان به مثابه »ابزار گذار « محسوب می‌شود و فرایند انجام آن از اهمیت مرکزی برخوردار نیست. آنها رساله را مرحله‌ای می‌دانند که فقط باید پشت سر گذاشته شود. مبتنی بر این تعریف، آنها خود را همچون مسافری گذری تلقی می‌کنند. یک »مسافر گذری « برای استقرار و پیگیری هدفی درازمدت در آینده زمان کافی ندارد. این رویکرد دانشجویان، به زعم ما حاوی نکات مهمی برای سیاست‌گذاران پژوهش بوده و مستلزم توجه آنها برای بازنگری بنیادی سیاست‌ها است. بدین معنا که با حذف رویکرد کمّی‌گرایانه در گسترش تحصیلات عالی، به برساخت چشم‌اندازی مشخص از اجرای دوره‌های دکتری تمرکز کنند.

Research as transition instrument: A phenomenological investigation of future image in Ph.D. thesis writing

This research has been done to investigate Shiraz university doctoral students rsquo; perspectives on thesis writing. Required data has been gathered by using deep interviews with eight doctoral students. Based on an abductive research strategy and using interpretative phenomenology, the research findings show a Ph.D. thesis doesn rsquo;t have a place in the big picture of their life. Themes abstracted from participants rsquo; interviews have a metaphorical sense. For them, the thesis was like an instrument for transition, so they didn rsquo;t have central consideration on the thesis process. They saw thesis conduction as a stage just for the pass, and so in this definition, they saw themselves as a transit passenger. A transit passenger doesn rsquo;t have enough time for settlement and follows a longlife aim in the future. We think this finding has more important implications for research policymakers and the process needs a fundamental review. It means they must be reduced the speed of quantitative development of higher education courses and concentrate on constructing a clear vision for them.
