چکیده
|
علاوه بر مهارت های زبانی در ترجمه که در طول چند دهۀ گذشته همواره مورد توجه محققان این رشته بوده، بسیاری از مباحث و مطالعات جدید در حوزه کیفیت ترجمه، معطوف به تاثیر غیرقابل‌انکار جنبۀ ذهنی و شناختی مترجم در ترجمه شده است. در این تحقیق در پی این هستیم تا از این رویکرد روان‌شناسانه استفاده کنیم و به بررسی رابطه احتمالی بین مفهوم نوظهور هوش روایی (در حوزه مطالعات ترجمه) و کیفیت ترجمه بپردازیم. در این مطالعه رابطه محتمل بین هوش روایی و کیفیت ترجمه مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. در این تحقیق 104 دانشجوی سال چهارم ترم آخر رشته مطالعات ترجمه در مقطع کارشناسی شرکت کردند. یافته های تحقیق نشان دادند که رابطه معناداری بین کیفیت ترجمه دانشجویان و هوش روایی آن‌ها وجود دارد. تمام زیرگروه های هوش روایی نیز با کیفیت ترجمه رابطه ای معنادار داشتند. به‌علاوه، در این تحقیق تفاوت معناداری بین کیفیت ترجمه دو گروه دانشجویان با هوش روایی بالا و دانشجویان با هوش روایی پایین وجود داشت. در پایان، یافته های تحقیق مورد بحث و بررسی قرارگرفته‌اند و به نتایج حاصل از آن اشاره شده است.

Investigating the Effect of Narrative Intelligence on Translation Quality

Abstract
|
Apart from the linguistic ability in translation which has constantly been the focus of scholars in the past decades, many recent arguments and research on translation quality point to the indispensable effect of mental and cognitive aspects of translator on his translation performance. In this paper we sought to implement this psychological approach and to investigate the probable relationship between the newfangled cognitive concept of narrative intelligence in the area of Translation Studies and translation quality (TQ). The likely relationship between narrative intelligence and translation quality from first language (Persian) to foreign language (English) was probed. In this research 104 undergraduate translation students took part. The findings showed that there exist a significant relationship between students ' TQ and their narrative intelligence. All the subcategories of narrative intelligence also proved a significant relation between TQ and narrative intelligence. In addition, there was a significant difference between high and low narrative intelligence translation students participating in this study in regards to their TQ. In the end, the findings were discussed and some implications were indicated.
