ترجمه‏(نا)پذیری عناصر فرهنگی در متون دیداری‌شنیداری: مورد پژوهش زیرنویس‏های فرانسوی مجموعه تلویزیونی ایرانی در چشم باد

ترجمه تولیدات دیداری‌شنیداری به ویژه زیرنویس‏ها با چالش‏های بسیاری همراه است. این چالش‏ها در تماس با فرهنگ و عناصر فرهنگی بیشتر نمود داشته و مترجم را با پیچیدگی‏ها و دشواری‏های کاری بسیاری روبرو می‏سازد. هدف از این پژوهش کندو کاو در خصوص چگونگی ترجمه و انتقال عناصر فرهنگی در متون شنیداری‏ دیداری در قالب زیرنویس با توجه مقتضیات و محدودیت‏های فن‏ آورانه، زبان‏شناختی و زیباشناختی است. در این نوشتار، پس از ارائه تعریف و بازتاب چارچوب‏های نظری موجود پیرامون فرهنگ و عناصر فرهنگی آغاز کرده و با گذر از امکان‏پذیری یا امکان‏نا‏پذیری انتقال مولفه ‏های فرهنگی به مخاطبان غیربومی، به تحلیل پیکره مطالعاتی خود _مجموعه تلویزیونی ایرانی در چشم باد بر اساس ریخت‏ شناسی فرهنگی نظریه‏ پردازان لهستانی پرداخته و راهکارهای مترجم در انتقال مفاهیم فرهنگی را بررسی می‏نمائیم. تحلیل‏های توصیفی و زبان‏شناختی که از چگونه ترجمه گزاره‏های شفاهی فرهنگی در این پیکره به دست آمده‏اند، حاکی از آن است که ترجمه «خرده عناصر فرهنگی» و اشارات فاضلانه موجود در یک متن هرگز به صورت سیستم بسته عمل نمی‏کنند، بلکه قادرند در ازای فروریزش بخشی از ارزش‏های معنایی، گفتمانی یا سبک ‏شناختی در زبان مبدا، پیام را پس از فهم، تعبیر و تعدیل در متن مقصد بازتولید کرده و پلی به سوی «مفاهمه بینافرهنگی» از تغییر ترجمه باز ایجاد کنند.

(Un)Translatability of Cultural Elements in AudioVisual Translation. A case study on the French subtitles of the Iranian movie In the Eye of the Wind

Translation of movies, telecasts and any other audiovisual product is associated with special procedures and techniques which become more challengeable and complex when facing the culture and cultural elements. Due to the fact that the translator who writes the subtitles is confronted with myriads of technological restrictions, linguistics requirements and stylistic challenges, the question arises as follows: are subtitles essentially able to reproduce or duplicate the cultural elements? For studying the modalities of the transfer of the cultural messages from the original text (oral statements in Farsi) to the translated formats (subtitles in French) we have proposed a descriptivoanalytic approach applied on a case study. After giving a brief definition and an outlook of the concept, we move toward the possibility or impossibility of transferring cultural elements via the classification of cultural elements furnished by the Polish ethnocultural theoreticians. Once the classifications are laid out, the analytical study of cultural elements in French subtitles of the “In the Eye of the Wind”, will be implemented. The results will lead us to the initial question: Translatability or untranslatability of cultural elements and the way by which they will be perceived by the audience.
