Abstract
nietzsche and heidegger engaged in a critical philosophical confrontation with modernity. from an ontological and epistemological standpoint, they do not identifythemselves as postmodern; however, their thought provided deconstructive frameworks that significantly influenced postmodernism and post-structuralism. this articledemonstrates how nietzsche and heidegger, through the deconstruction of the conceptof time, transform prevailing intellectual and philosophical foundations, establishing anintertwined relation between power, language, and event. by casting doubt on thecornerstones of metaphysical thought—namely essentialism and the modern subject—they sought to interpret and analyze philosophy in its connection to life. employing theconcept of movement (becoming), they effect a rotational shift in our understanding andinterpretation of the world, conceiving life as an ever-renewing event. from theirperspective, events are not external to the nexus of language and power but intrinsic toit, thereby playing a foundational role in the stabilization or transformation of historicalknowledge; that is, within the domain of language–power, events emerge as possibilitiesfor new configurations of truth. consequently, one of the most significant outcomes ofthis relational framework is historical anti-metaphysics, which manifests itself in the thought of post-structuralist and postmodern thinkers such as foucault, derrida, and rorty.
