مساله اساسی نوشتار حاضر این است که نشان دهد چگونه فلسفه سیاسی فیشته در دوره ینا برای اینکه قابل فهم شود بدون درک فلسفه سیاسی ماکیاولی ممکن نیست؟ نگارنده در این مجال سعی می‌کند تا با روش توصیفی – تحلیلی توضیح دهد که فیشته با اینکه جهان اخلاقی را غایت مناسبات سیاسی می‌دانست، اما از بسیاری جهات در سیاست پایبند منطقی است که ماکیاولی در سیاست ایجاد می‌کند. او با تاثیرپذیری از ماکیاولی مناسبات سیاسی را بر پایه واقعیت موثر معنی می‌کند و با بنیادی دانستن وحدت ملی، حکومت قانون و مصالح عمومی که از ماکیاولی اتخاذ می کند حقوق و سیاست را از طریق بازشناسی توضیح می دهد . فیشته به واسطه توضیح حق و سیاست از طریق بازشناسی قلمرو سیاست را که در ماکیاولی محور مناسبات انسانی تلقی می شد به ساحت آگاهی و ابژکتیویته وارد می کند و به این ترتیب، منطق سیاست ماکیاولی را در ساحت فلسفه و نظر به اجرا در می آورد.
