|
Case presentation: we present a case of disseminated cryptococcosis, in a non-hiv patient with steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome (focal segmental glomerulosclerosis), who was given various immunosuppressive agents. discussion: bactec blood culture, cerebrospinal fluid analysis, and chest x-rays, were consistent with a cryptococcus neoformans infection. treatment with liposomal amphotericin b, combined with flucytosine, followed by fluconazole, was successful.
