Perspektif Hubungan Malaysia – Indonesia:Satu Tinjauan Dalam Kalangan Kepimpinan Belia Indonesia

Malaysia-indonesia relationship has lasted for a very long time, since the golden era of the old malay kingdom in the archipelago, till their independence in the 1940-50s. indeed, in the modern era, the friendship faced a lot of challenges and it is surrounded by various issues. labor issues, border disputes, cultural issues etc. have been identified as some of the factors that characterise the diplomatic relations between the two countries. this study was conducted through both qualitative and quantitative approach, involving 73 respondents (i.e. the leaders) from several youth associations in indonesia. it covered most of the major cities in indonesia such as medan, padang, jakarta, bandung, surabaya and banjarmasin with the data collection process started in november 2013 and ended in august 2014. this study has identified the perceptions and views of indonesian youth leaders on issues that are oftenly distressing the relationship and should be given an attention. some suggestions were given to nourish the roots of this relationship.
