تحلیل مبانی نظری مطالعات صدا و مکان از اکوستیک معماری تا مکان شنیداری

بیان مسئله: یکی از مباحث قابل طرح اما مغفول در زمینه‌ تجربه‌ بدنمند معماری، نسبتی است که شنیدن صداها با معماری برقرار می‌کند. بر این اساس نوشتار حاضر به نسبت میان شنیدن صداها و مکان می‌پردازد.هدف پژوهش: نوشتار حاضر در راستای جستجوی چیستی «تجربه‌ شنیداری مکان» به دنبال بیان شیوه‌های گوناگون «اندیشیدن به نسبت صدا و مکان» در قالب رشته‌های مطالعاتی شناخته ‌شده است.روش پژوهش: مقاله با مراجعه به متون متنوع در این زمینه به معرفی مبانی فکری و محتوای اجمالی این مطالعات در بستری تاریخی می‌پردازد. از این رو مقاله بر مبنای تحقیقی «پرسش‌محور» شکل گرفته و «فرضیه‌محور» نیست.نتیجه‌گیری: تحلیل مبانی فکری این مطالعات سه رویکرد فیزیکی، روانشناسانه و پدیدارشناسانه را در این زمینه نشان می‌دهد. این مطالعات سیری از مطالعات فیزیک صدا در حوزه‌ فیزیک ساختمان را آغاز می‌کند و چرخش محور مطالعات از مفهوم «صدا» در علوم تجربی و در رشته‌‌ اکوستیک و زیرمجموعه‌های آن همانند اکوستیک معماری و اکوستیک روانی را به سوی مفهوم «شنیدن» در مطالعات انسانی نشان می‌دهد. مطالعات انسانی دو رویکرد عمده‌ روانشناسانه (در مطالعاتی چون منظرصوتی و زیرمجموعه‌های آن همانند اکوستیمولوژی و اکولوژی صوتی و نیز معماری شنودی)، و پدیدارشناسانه (در مطالعات مکان شنیداری) را شامل می‌شود. در انتها مقاله با مقایسه‌ تحلیلی و جمع‌بندی رویکردهای فکری، سیر اندیشه در این مطالعات را از کمیت (در اکوستیک معماری با هدف کنترل صدا) به سوی کیفیت (در منظرصوتی و معماری شنودی با هدف طراحی صدا) و نیز از کیفیت به سمت کلیت (در مکان شنیداری به هدف فهم شنیداری مکان) نشان می‌دهد.

An Analysis of Theoretical Foundations in Sound and Place StudiesFrom Architectural Acoustics to Auditory Place

Problem statement: The relation between hearing sounds and architecture is one of the neglected matters in studying the embodied experience of architecture. Accordingly, this paper addresses the relation between hearing sounds and place.Research objective: To explore the whatness of the ‘auditory experience of place,’ this paper examines the diverse ways of thinking about the relation between sound and place through academic disciplines. Research method: The paper introduces the intellectual foundations and content of these disciplines in a historical context by referring to diverse texts of the field. Therefore, the paper is based on “inquirybased” research rather than a “hypothesisbased” one.Conclusion: The analysis indicates three approaches: physical, psychological, and phenomenological. The paper begins with architectural acoustics, which is the starting point of studying sound and architecture in the field of building physics and indicates a conceptual turn in the studies from ‘sound’ in sciences (like acoustics, architectural acoustics, and psychoacoustics) into ‘hearing’ in human studies. Humanoriented sound studies include two main approaches: psychological approach, in the soundscape and its subdisciplines like acoustemology and acoustic ecology as well as aural architecture; and phenomenological approach, in auditory place studies. Finally, the analytical comparison and a conclusion of these approaches indicate the movement of thought in these studies from quantity (in architectural acoustics aimed at sound control) toward quality (in the soundscape and aural architecture aimed at sound design) and more toward wholeness (in auditory place aimed at auditory understanding of place.)
