نقش آیین گذار در ساختار کالبدی حمام‌های عمومی ایران

بیان مسئله: نظافت و طهارت از اهمیت بسیاری در دین اسلام برخوردار است. این اهمیت در توجه فراوان به گونه‌ای از معماری به نام حمام بیشتر تجلی یافته است. حمام‌ها علاوه بر ویژگی‌های کالبدی و مادی دارای ویژگی‌های آیینی و غیرمادی نیز هستند که برای شناخت آنها باید ساختار کالبدی مشترک حمام‌های عمومی مورد مطالعه قرار گیرند. البته باید در نظر داشت که این ساختار مشترک در معماری و به‌ویژه معماری سنتی رابطۀ مستقیم با عملکرد بنا دارد و در حقیقت هر بنا برای عملکردی ویژه و با طرحی متناسب با آن به‌وجود می‌آمده است. یکی از کارکردهای اصلی حمام انجام آیین طهارت است و مطابق نظر اغلب محققان آیین‌های تطهیر در زمرۀ آیین‌های گذار قرار دارند. حال این پرسش مطرح می‌شود که آیین گذار چه نقشی در ساختار کالبدی حمام‌های عمومی ایرانی داشته است؟هدف پژوهش: آنچه پژوهش حاضر در فرجام کار بر آن تاکید دارد یافتن تاثیر آیین‌های گذار بر کالبد حمام‌های عمومی ایرانی است. نتایج مطالعۀ حاضر نشان می‌دهد که ساختار سه‌بخشی آیین گذار به‌عنوان مفهومی الهام‌بخش در طرح معماری حمام مورد توجه بوده است. روش پژوهش: برای بررسی نقش آیین گذار در ساختار کالبدی حمام‌های عمومی ایران، با توجه به الزامات پژوهش و ضمن بهره‌گیری از نوع پژوهش استدلال منطقی، به‌صورت توامان از روش تفسیری تاریخی نیز استفاده می‌شود. گردآوری اطلاعات لازم پژوهش نیز از طریق مطالعات اسنادی و منابع کتابخانه‌ای است.نتیجه‌گیری: آفرینش فضای معماری علاوه برعملکرد بنا از ریشه های فرهنگی و اعتقادی جامعه تاثیر می‌پذیرد. در شکل‌گیری ساختار سه‌بخشی حمام‌های ایرانی که شامل بینه، میاندر وگرمخانه است در کنار تثیرعوامل اقلیمی و عملکردی، ارتباط معنا داری با مراحل سه گانه آیین گذار و همچنین آداب استحمام و تطهیر می توان یافت که نشان از توجه به جنبه محتوایی و آیینی در طرح حمام های سنتی ایران است.

The Role of Rite of Passage in Physical Structure of Iran’s Public Baths

Problem statement: Hygiene and purification are very important in the religion of Islam. The importance is manifested more in paying attention to a type of architecture namely bathroom. Bathrooms, in addition to physical and material characteristics, have ritualistic and immaterial characteristics and in order to identify them, common physical structure of public should be studied. Of course, it should be noted that these structural patterns in architecture and particularly in traditional architecture have direct relationships with building functions and in fact, any building is constructed for special function and with a pattern appropriate to it. One of the main functions of bathroom is to perform rituals of purification and according to most researchers; rituals of the purification are of rites of passage. Now the question arises that what role did rite of passage play in the physical structure of Iranian public baths? Reaserch objectives: The present study has emphasized to find the effect of rites of passage on basic pattern of Iranian public baths. The results of the present study show that the threepart structure of rites of passage was considered as an inspirational concept in the design architecture of the bathroom.Research method: In order to study the role of rite of passage in physical structure of Iran’s public baths in accordance with the research requirements, while using the logical reasoning based investigation, historical interpretation method is also used. The research data have been gathered via library resources and documentary studies.Conclusion: Iranian baths have threepart structure including a Bineh (caldarium), a mediator (middle corridor) and a hot chamber (tepidarium) and purification as the main function of bathhouses reflects the rite of passage. In general, rite of passage has three separate, purgatory and reintegration stages and this threestage spiritual journey can be seen in bathing customs and purification rituals. The results of the present study show that threepart structure of passage is likely the inspired concept of traditional structure in architectural design of bathhouse and the use of threepart structure in its body.
