چکیده
|
In suspension bridges both inclined and vertical hangers have their advantagesand disadvantages. the inclined hangers are more prone to fatigue in comparison withvertical ones, but inclined hangers when encountering lateral loads (such as wind andearthquake loads) react better than vertical hangers. in some cases, some of the inclinedhangers show slackness and some get too stressed. in this paper by using a new modicationof the hangers system, while keeping the advantages of both systems, the disadvantagesof both systems are resolved and slackness phenomenon is completely removed. the newarrangement of the hangers is formulated. three dierent hanger systems are analyzedunder nonlinear static analysis for symmetrical and asymmetrical live loads plus dead loads.results show that the modied hangers system is improved considerably in comparison withvertical and inclined hangers.
