   A time varying optimal algorithm for active structural response control

چکیده    In this paper, a time varying optimal control algorithm (-method) is proposedto control building responses against environmental earthquake excitations. the proposedmethod is presented through dening a rational relation between the state variables ofa structure with active and passive control systems with identical mechanisms. thisprocedure results in a time varying gain matrix with adaptable ability to external excitation,in order to decrease the extra need for maximum and/or total control force. performanceof the proposed method is examined by applying it to an eight-story shear type buildingsubjected to various ground accelerations. numerical results indicate that the proposedalgorithm in some cases reduces the power consumption demand signicantly, withoutany reduction in control system performance, in comparison with the classical closed loopoptimal control method, and, in the worst case, acts in a similar way.
