A tribute to Lotfi Zadeh on his 90th birthday

I met professor zadeh for the first time in his office in 1986 when i went there to talk with him about my research on uncertainty management in artificial intelligence. this was only a few months after i started my work at the nasa ames research center. dr. henry lum, who hired me to work in his branch, was interested in bringing artificial intelligence to nasa, and it is an honor for me that professor zadeh has remained a close friend since then.
