   Investigation into the effect of intake port geometric parameters and blockage on flow coefficient and in-cylinder flow: application to engine port design

چکیده    The computational fluid dynamics (cfd) method is employed to gainfurther insight into the characteristics of the in-cylinder ow eld. comparison between themeasured and predicted results of the in-cylinder tumble ow and ow coecient generatedby a port-valve-liner assembly, on a steady-ow test bench, is presented, and a reasonablygood level of agreement is achieved. a cad parametric model of port geometry is createdto enable variations, practically and quickly. employing cfd analysis, the relationshipbetween design parameters and port ow characteristics is established. the inuence ofnew blockage patterns on in-cylinder ow is also studied
