   Numerical simulation of flow over spillway based on the CFD method

چکیده    In this study, numerical simulation of ow over a chute spillway is presentedusing the computational fluid dynamics (cfd) method. the ow characteristics such asvelocity, pressure and depth through the spillway have been calculated for four di erentow rates. since the actual ow is turbulent, the rng turbulence model has been usedfor simulation. the numerical computed results of piezometric pressure and ow velocityalong the spillway were compared with the results from the hydraulic model tests. themaximum di erence between calculated and experimental results in average velocity valueswas 5.47% and in piezometric pressure values was 7.97%. the numerical results agreedwell with experiments
