   Finite volume-lattice Boltzmann modeling of time-dependent Fl ows

چکیده    In this paper, a stable nite volume formulation of the lattice boltzmannmethod is used to study time-dependent ows. for simulation purposes, a cell-centeredscheme is implemented to discretize the convection operator and weighting factors are usedas ux correctors to enhance the stability. also, additional lattices at the edge of eachboundary cell are used, which allow a much better description of the actual geometricalshape. compared with previous nite volume formulations, the proposed approach resultedin a wider domain of stability and faster convergence. the scheme is validated throughsimulations on ow over a circular cylinder and mixing layer ow. the results show thatthe method is a promising scheme for simulating time-dependent ows.
