این جستار با اتخاذ رویکردی تحلیلی - فلسفی، به بررسی نقش محوری آگاهی متافیزیکی و تجربه دینی در تکوین «خود حقیقی» از منظر الهیات نوآورانه پل تیلیش می‌پردازد. تیلیش با عبور از الهیات سنتی و بازتعریف مفهوم خدا به مثابه «اساس وجود»، بستری برای درک هستی‌شناختی اضطراب‌های وجودی انسان معاصر فراهم می‌آورد. این پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که چگونه مواجهه با «تهدید عدم» و درک عمیق از تناهی، زمینه‌ساز پرسش‌های بنیادین هستی‌شناختی و جستجوی معنای اصیل وجود می‌شود. استدلال می‌شود که «آگاهی متافیزیکی» به‌عنوان درکی عمیق از «اساس وجود»، نه تنها محرک تجربه‌ی دینی است، بلکه با ایجاد رابطه‌ای وجودی میان «خود» و «امر متعالی»، مسیری را برای تعالی و تحقق ظرفیت‌های بالقوه انسانی می‌گشاید. مقاله، با واکاوی این مفاهیم، نشان می‌دهد که چگونه الهیات تیلیش، با ارائه تفسیری نوین از رابطه میان الهیات، فلسفه وجودی و پرسش‌های بنیادین انسان، اضطراب‌های وجودی را به مثابه محرک‌هایی برای تحقق «خود حقیقی» تفسیر می‌کند.
