|
A novel 4f–3d lanthanum–manganese isonicotinic acid complex, {[la2(ia)4(h2o)4][μ3-(ia)]2[mn(h2o)4]}n2ncl (1) (ia = isonicotinic acid anion), was prepared and characterized. complex 1 is characterized by a two-dimensional (2-d) layer. the lanthanum ion possesses a square anti-prismatic structure, while manganese ion possesses a sixfold coordination octahedron. the photoluminescence spectra revealed that it displays a yellow emission. the sharp band at 592 nm is rose from the unique emission 4t1–6a1 transition of mn2+. the diffuse reflectance experiment uncovered the presence of a 2.83 ev band gap. a novel 4f–3d lanthanum–manganese isonicotinic acid complex has been prepared and characterized. it is characterized by a 2-d layer-like structure. solid-state photoluminescence spectra revealed that it displays an emission in the yellow region. the sharp band at 592 nm is ascribed to the characteristic emission 4t1–6a1 transition of mn2+ ions. solid-state uv/vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy uncovered the presence of a wide optical band gap of 2.83 ev.
