   cross-linked amino-modified polyacrylamide support: selective scavenger for aromatic aldehydes

چکیده    Cross-linked polyacrylohydrazide and poly [n-(2-aminoethyl)-acrylamide] were prepared, characterized and applied as polymeric scavenger resins. these polyacrylamide-based scavenger resins proved to be efficient compounds toward different aromatic aldehydes. they are highly selective for aromatic aldehydes compared to other carbonyl compounds. they are also capable to scavenge other electrophilic species like epoxides, anhydrides, acid chlorides and isocyanates. the used polymeric scavenger resins can be regenerated through acid hydrolysis, and the aromatic aldehydes can successfully be recovered from the scavenger resins almost quantitatively.
