جایگاه و نقش کتاب در تاریخ مناسبات ایران و کانادا (1357 – 1339 / 1978 – 1960)

یکی از موضوعاتی که در تاریخِ تقریباً هفتاد ساله برقراری روابط رسمی میان ایران و کانادا (از سال 1956/1335) توجه را جلب می‌کند، جایگاه و نقش کتاب و مسائل مرتبط با آن در مناسبات دو کشور است. براساس اسناد موجود، ارسال کتاب از ایران به کانادا توسط نهادهای رسمی و دولتی و تالیف کتاب درباره ایران (در کانادا) با همکاری و حمایت دولت ایران، مهم‌ترین نمادهای این عرصه از پیوند میان دو کشور است. این قضیه، جدای از جابه‌جایی کتاب به صورت فردی یا تجاری و نیز پژوهش‌های فردی و خارج از چهارچوب مناسبات دیپلماتیک میان دو کشور است. در نوشتار پیش رو به روش توصیفی تحلیلی و با تکیه بر اسناد آرشیوی، جایگاه و نقش کتاب در چهارچوب روابط رسمی دو کشور در یک دوره کمتر از بیست سال یعنی، از سال 1339 تا 1357 بررسی شده است. یافته‌های پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که در این دوره نسبتاً کوتاه، توجه به کتاب در مناسبات سیاسی فرهنگی دو کشور، اهمیت قابل‌توجه و روندی روبه گسترش داشته است. از این رهگذر، آثار مهمی در زمینه تاریخ و فرهنگ ایران تالیف شده‌ و به چاپ رسیده‌ و آشنایی با ایران و زبان فارسی در کانادا گسترش یافته است.

one of the topics that attracts attention during the seventy-year history of establishing official relations between iran and canada (since 1956/1335) is the role of the book and its related issues in the relations between the two countries. according to the available documents, sending books from iran to canada by the government institutions and writing books about iran (in canada) with the cooperation and support of the iranian government are the most important symbols of the connection between the two countries.  in this article, the role of the book in the framework of the official relations of the two countries from 1339 to 1357, has been investigated by using a descriptive-analytical method and relying on archival documents. the findings show that in this relatively short period, attention to the book on the political-cultural relations of the two countries has had significant importance and an expanding trend. in these publications, the history and culture of iran have been written and published, and familiarity with iran and the persian language has expanded in canada.
