بررسی نحوه معرفی یُگه و آموزه‌های شرقی در آثار اهل تصوف و دانشمندان مسلمان

آشنایی چهره های شاخص تصوف با آموزه های شرقی به ویژه یُگه کلاسیک هندویی از نکات مهم در تاریخ تصوّف اسلامی است که خود دلیلی بر غیربومی انگاشتن خاستگاه عرفان اسلامی در نزد برخی مستشرقین نیز شده است. در این نوشتار پس از اشاره به مکتب یُگه و نیز نحوه حضور تصوف اسلامی در هند، مکتوبات و ملفوظات برخی از چهره های شاخص تصوف اسلامی که به آموزه های هندویی به طور عام و یُگه کلاسیک به طور خاص اشاراتی داشته اند و یا به ترجمه و شرح آن پرداخته اند بررسی شده و نحوه معرفی یُگه کلاسیک توسّط ایشان به جهان اسلام ارزیابی شده است. در نتیجه بررسی به عمل آمده مشخص گردید که همّ اصلی ایشان بر انتقال عریان یُگه نبوده و ضمن اینکه سعی کرده   اند شناخت دقیقی از آن به دست آورند کوشیده اند آن را در قالب مفاهیمی که در جهان اسلام قابل فهم است منتقل کنند. این یافته خود می تواند تاییدی بر نظریه ای باشد که اهتمام دانشمندان اسلامی در دورۀ میانه بر شرح منابع ملل دیگر را بیش از ترجمه آثار می داند.

investigating the way yoga and eastern doctrins are introduced in the works of sufists and muslim scholars

the acquaintance of prominent figures in sufism and muslim scholars with eastern doctrines, particularly hindu classical yoga, has been cited by orientalists as one of the reasons for the perceived non-native origins of islamic mysticism. this article evaluates the writings and records of islamic scholars, including islamic sufis, who have translated, explained, or referenced hindu doctrines in general and classical yoga specifically, and examines how they introduced these concepts to the islamic world. through this investigation, it was discovered that their primary objective was not simply to transmit the essence of yoga and other eastern teachings. instead, while striving to gain a comprehensive understanding of these doctrines, they sought to present them in a manner that could be comprehensible within the islamic context. this finding itself can serve as confirmation of the theory that the attention of islamic scholars in the middle period of islamic history were more inclined to describe the sources of other nations rather than merely translating their works.
