سیاست خارجی ایران و چالش‌های فراروی ایران در حوزه اکو

به دنبال تلاش‌های بین‌المللی و منطقه‌ای به‌منظور بی‌اعتمادسازی کشورهای حوزه خلیج فارس به ایران و در نتیجه سردی روابط میان طرفین، جمهوری اسلامی تلاش کرده تا با اتخاذ سیاست نگاه به شرق، منافع ملی خود را در ارتباط با کشورهای حوزه اقیانوس هند، آسیای میانه و قفقاز جستجو کند. اگرچه مشابهت‌های فرهنگی، زبانی و مذهبی موجب افزایش توانائی‌ها و ظرفیت‌های این حوزه (حوزه اکو) می‌شود، اما جمهوری اسلامی در این رابطه با دشواری‌هایی نیز روبه‌روست. در این پژوهش و در پاسخ به این پرسش که چالش‌های فراروی جمهوری اسلامی ایران در دست‌یابی به اهداف سیاست خارجی در حوزه اکو چیست؟، نویسندگان این فرضیه را ارائه داده‌اند که جمهوری اسلامی ایران به‌منظور تامین اهداف سیاست خارجی خود در حوزه اکو با چالش‌های منطقه‌ای (پان‌ترکیسم، اسلام‌سلفی) و فرامنطقه‌ای(ایران‌هراسی) روبه‌رو است.

Iran’s foreign policy and the challenges presented regarding ECO

Due to regional and international efforts to represent Iran as an untrustworthy country among the countries close to the Persian Gulf, causing a distant relationship between them, Islamic Republic of Iran has attempted to examine its national interests regarding the countries adjacent the Indian Ocean, Central Asia and Caucasus, by adopting the policy of “looking to the east”. Although, cultural, linguistic and religious similarities cause an increment in abilities and capacities of the zone (also known as the ECO zone), Islamic Republic of Iran is facing some difficulties in the matter. In this research and to answer the question of what the challenges faced by Islamic Republic of Iran in achieving the foreign policy goal regarding ECO are, theorists have provided the idea ,that in order to attain the foreign policy goals in ECO, the Islamic Republic of Iran will face regional (PanTurkism, Salafism) and trans regional (Iranophobia) challenges.
