Analisis keperluan tenaga manusia dalam industri pelancongan di Malaysia

Malaysia had forecasted tourism sector experienced a substantial increased due to the impact of higher tourist arrivals from high-income countries in 2011. along with that,the demand for employment,especially in the tourism sub-sectors are expected to increase. based on the tenth malaysia plan,the government has targeted malaysia to be included in the top 10 countries in terms of revenues from the global tourism sector besides generating 2 million jobs for malaysians by 2015. this paper makes a projection on the requirement of human resource needs in the malaysian tourism industry to provide an initial overview about manpower requirements in the tourism sector in 2015. the method used is the input - output analysis . this method is the most appropriate method for estimating manpower requirements as projections would cover the entire sectors in the economy. projected labor requirements are divided into three scenarios. these scenarios show the relationship between labor,output and economic growth at a certain level . economic growth is assumed: i ) low at 3.8 %,ii) stable at 5.8 % and iii ) high at 7. %. the results showed that the tourism sector which includes hotel,restaurant,transportation,entertainment and recreation and retail trade sub-sectors experienced a significant improvement in 2015. hotels and restaurants and retail trade sub-sectors were the largest contributors to the human resource requirement in 2015.
