در شناخت پدیده های مختلف، روش شناسی متناسب با موضوع، ضرورت، راه های جمع آوری و تجزیه و تحلیل داده ها، اهداف و نتایج وجود دارد. نظریه پردازی اجتماعی، دینی و اخلاقی نیز از این قاعده مستثنی نیست. در این مسیر نگرش هایی متنوع به چشم می خورد. گروهی به جنبه های رفتاری و روانشناختی در اعتراض های اجتماعی و سیاسی توجه دارند. گروهی دیگر، آنها را دارای ریشه های اجتماعی می دانند.گروه سوم، بر این مبنا که تغییرات اجتماعی پدیده هایی دارای زمینه ها و ابعاد گوناگون هستند، جنبه های فردی مبتنی بر مباحث دینی، اخلاقی و روانشناختی را با نگرش های اجتماعی تلفیق می کنند. با توجه به اینکه تحولات اجتماعی و فکری در مقیاس گسترده پدیده هایی چند علتی می باشند، همراهی این نگرش ها در شناخت و سنجش آنها امری ضروری می باشد، چراکه نگاه تک بعدی و مبتنی بر یک بعد خاص نمی تواند منتج به شناخت دقیق شود. نگرش تلفیقی و تلفیق سطوح تحلیل، به ویژه به تحولات اجتماعی و دینی معاصر در ایران، با محوریت اخلاق قابلیت دارد.
