Cupric oxide nanostructures were synthesized via a simplereaction between copper nitrate and sodium hydroxide using asonochemical-assisted method. the synthesized cuo was thencharacterized using x-ray diffraction, scanning electronmicroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, fouriertransform infrared, ultraviolet-visible and photoluminescencespectroscopy. our studies show that the cuo nanostructure canbe used as a humidity sensor with a short response time (about6 sec) and a long recovery time (up to 650 sec). variation ofrelative sensor impedance (defined as sensing) at relativehumidity of 90% was measured to be about 80, which indicatesa high sensing of our designed sensor.
