Biomarker approach to the assessment of the health status of Moroccan marine ecosystems: Preliminary study in Sidi Ifni coast (South of Morocco)

The present study,which has not yet been done,constitutes a preliminary contribution to the assessment of the marine ecosystem health in the coast of sidi ifni (south of morocco) in which some issues still receives wastewater. measurements of biochemical indicators: acetylcholinesterase,glutation s-transeferase,catalase and malondialehyde (ache,gst,cat and mda) in the mediterranean mussel (mytilus galloprovincialis) collected from the two sites on the coast of sidi ifni,showed that these biomarkers are measurable and inducible by pollution existing in the study sites. seasonal variations of the measured biochemical parameters show that it is imperative to take into account such variations in the development and validation of these biomarkers.
