Essential ingredient hemodialysis the water is used to prepare dialysates and to disinfect generators. about 120 liters of water is purified to ensure the hemodialysis session for each patient. the center of hemodialysis of al ghassani hospital of fez assumes the treatment of more than 84 patients,more than 12000 hemodialysis sessions per year. aware of the elevated water consumption,recycling for uses such as watering gardens was carried out by a treatment of mixing the effluents to water wells,thereby lowering the electrical conductivity and its adaptation recommended for use. this study provides,for the first time in morocco,an assessment of the bacteriological and physicochemical quality of recycled effluents. 28 samples (21 collected and 7 composites) were drawn before and the same number after treatment,in appropriate flasks and were analyzed according to the standards. they were analyzed according to moroccan standards. the physico-chemical analysis concerned the extent of potential hydrogen (ph),temperature and electrical conductivity; dosing of nitrates,nitrites,chlorides and sulfates. for microbiological analysis,we realized enumeration of faecal coliforms by membrane filtration and search salmonella and vibrio cholera. according to the results found,untreated effluents can not be utilized directly for watering. prior treatment for improving the quality is necessary. whereas compliance results in relation to the regulations in force were observed in the results of the analysis of physico-chemical and microbiological parameters for heavy metals by icp technique searched in the effluents removed after treatment. it would be desirable to study the potential for recycling of effluents from other center of hemodialysis to the number of 135 and other hospital services thus allowing saving water resources and environmental protection.
