Characterization of dairy effluents in view of their valorization: Case of whey [Caractérisation des effluents laitiers en vue de leur valorisation: Cas de lactosérum]

The effluents of dairy industries are among food waste that contains the most of organic matter (protein,lactose,vitamin,minerals etc ...) and microorganism. this redoubtable load of these effluents is a source of environmental pollution. the waste management preoccupies the producers,for this the objective of this study is to contribute to the characterization of these effluents and particularly the whey (w). this last,is the form richest in organic matter (om) (86,80% ms) and the more complex. the physical-chemical and bacteriological analysis of this effluent allowed to give an idea about quantity of different kind of pollutants: cod (28620 mg o2 / l),sv (73.435 g / l) bod5 (7476 mg o2 / l),ct (2 103 cfu / ml) and gt (37,51 104 cfu / ml),which will allow making a decision for an eventual valorization.
