Agricultural soils irrigated by Hassar River waters (Médiouna-Morocco): Agronomic and environmental approach [Les sols agricoles irrigués par les eaux d'oued Hassar (Médiouna-Maroc): Approche agronomique et environnementale]

In the suburban area north of the grand casablanca,agricultural land is irrigated by the waters of hassar river which receives domestic and industrial wastewater origin from the province of médiouna. in order to address the impact of irrigation on agricultural soils irrigated by these waters,samples of the soil were taken in four agricultural stations to a depth (0-20 cm) from upstream to downstream. the results of agronomic soil tests studied showed that the soil texture is loam to sandy loam with slightly alkaline ph,it contain more than 2% of organic matter and the average of nutrients concentrations (potassium,phosphorus and nitrogen) vary from upstream to downstream. the environmental analysis of trace metals proof that the plots irrigated by the waters of hassar river contain a high levels of trace metals (etm) (cadmium and lead) which exceed standards set by the world health organization (who) against the cu,cr,and zn concentrations are below the thresholds (who).
