Study of the effect of concentration on the adsorption of two drugs (phenobarbital and ibuprofen) on powdered activated carbon F400 [Etude de l'effet de la concentration sur l'adsorption de deux produits pharmaceutiques (le phenobarbital et l'ibuprofene) sur le charbon actif en poudre le F400]

The aim of this work is the study the influence of concentration on the adsorption of two pharmaceuticals,phenobarbital and ibuprofen in the water,on a powdered activated carbon (pac) f400. the results obtained during the tests do vary the concentration of adsorbate,done in batch experiments,show that the thermodynamic equilibrium is reached with a speed which depends not only on the speed with which the components of the mixture separating broadcast into the adsorbent in the fluid but also the interaction of adsorbate-adsorbent. the adsorption capacity is more important than the concentration of the adsorbate is low. this adsorption capacity is rapidly exceeds 60% for phenobarbital to 4 mg l-1 and 50% for ibuprofen for 8 mg l-1. to evaluate the residual concentration of phenobarbital and ibuprofen (cr),we developed the operating conditions for the dosing of these two molecules by high performance liquid chromatography (hplc).
