   Study of Green Corrosion Inhibition on AISI 1018 Carbon Steel in Sulfuric Acid Using Crataegus mexicana as Eco-Friendly Inhibitor

چکیده    Green corrosion inhibition on aisi 1018 carbon steel immersed in 0.5m h2so4 by crataegus mexicana is develop using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (eis), potentiodynamic polarization curves (ppc) and weight loss method. the metal surface morphology was analysed by scanning electron microscope (sem). and the chemical characterization of eco-friendly inhibitor is carried out by fourier transform infrared (ftir). the eis showed that the use of 500 ppm of methanol extract of c. mexicana allow reaches 80% of corrosion inhibition efficiency (cie). through ppc of cie obtained was 75 % and c. mexicana acts a mix type inhibitor. the cie obtained by weight loss method was 95% for the eco-friendly inhibitor. the adsorption of c. mexicana over metal surface obeys the frumkin isotherm and according to the gibbs free energy the eco-friendly inhibitor acts by physisorption process. the ftir shows the characteristic signals of the functional groups present in flavonoids. the lactuca sativa seeds toxicity bioassay shown that c. mexicanais slightly toxic to the bioindicator organism.
